My journey to countryside wedding planning . . .

The path to creating Lucy Wells Weddings and Events has been exciting and a complete passion project for me. Having trained as a dancer in London before spending many years as a teacher I found myself with an innate need to combine everything I enjoyed with the skills I had developed in my previous career. The meticulous organization of ‘teacher Lucy’ merged with the visual arts enthusiast ‘dancer Lucy’ and here we are. After many hours studying with the UK Wedding Academy, learning my craft from some of the best in the business, copious amounts of coffee and the odd gin and tonic of course!

I live in beautiful Guildford in Surrey with my husband and daughter. I love the countryside on our doorstep and having grown up on the South coast I also love the sea, in fact being outdoors in general is my happy place. Nature is such a creative inspiration to me and has drawn me to specialising in countryside wedding planning. I love to create weddings that find a wonderful balance between luxury and laidback vibes.

If I’m not wandering out in nature with my family in tow then I’m getting stuck into a good book, doing a spot of yoga or baking. I like to keep things simple in every aspect of my life including my work. I thrive on being able to support and assist those I work with to create wonderful memories that last a lifetime. What could be better than being part of the happiest day of someone’s life? I love my job and I can’t wait to help you create a day to remember!

More about me…

  • I love crafting and have a huge collection of bits and bobs (yes nearly as much as Hobby Craft!)
  • I have an obsession with buying books, particularly for my daughter, she has a massive library!
  • I have a ridiculous fear of spiders, big or small eight legs is far too many!
  • I’m a neat freak (which is difficult when you live with a toddler!)
  • I like to think that most problems can be solved with a cup of tea and a slice of cake!
